My mantra for 2018.

For a while I thought it was perhaps my less punchy version of 'Just Do It'. Not the case. I don't want to 'JUST' do anything and I also don't want to do 'IT' just for the sake of doing it.

I want to 'do what needs to be done' in order to activate a dream / all of my dreams.

A simple mantra that inspires enough fire and encouragement for someone with a track record of procrastinating and avoiding the mundane in between things. I am learning to love these tasks though. They are all part of the bigger picture and they align with what I want to do, so I am soldiering through the growing pains and simply doing what needs to be done.

1st step: keep this mantra in mind.

2nd step: put your phone on flight mode.

3rd step: race the clock.

I am a serial list maker. I have to do lists on the mirrored wardrobe doors in my bedroom along with to do lists on my phone and paper too. Highlighting or ticking jobs off makes my soul happy. Flight mode is extremely necessary though. And once I have raced the clock and completed the job as quickly as possible, I get to check my phone as a reward (woo......!).

I have been applying this mantra to every area of my life.

Since coming home from Sri Lanka I have decided to implement a few new daily habits.

  • Each night I put my phone on flight mode.
  • I make my bed when I wake up.
  • I ride to the beach for a swim or a surf and don't turn flight mode off until I have had some 'me' time.
  • I run through the Get Bendy poster.
  • I exercise.
  • I am 'free from' (rather than 'giving up' or 'quitting') refined sugar.
  • I nourish my body.
  • I journal and read before going to sleep.

When I look at this list - which is on my mirrored wardrobe doors - I simply think 'do what needs to be done' and the habits are easy to uphold.

I hope this mantra can help you too!
