Forearm Backbend

You will need to work on your flexibility before jumping into this pose, and you MUST be warmed up otherwise you may injure yourself.

This is a broken down sequence of the video on my Instagram :) I normally kick over from a forearm stand now just because it's what I prefer but here is what I did as a beginner.

Lay on back, hands by your head

Slowly press up and gently place the crown of your head on the mat

Come onto your forearms one at a time

 Both forearms on the mat

Slowly press up into a backbend, opening through your shoulders

 

Another option...

 

Lay on back, hands by your head

Press up into wheel pose

Slowly come down to your forearms (have someone spot you)

Slowly press up into a backbend, opening through your shoulders
