DVDs you need to watch 02 October 2014

In 2012 and 2013 when I was sick of feeling sick, I spent quite a bit of time watching documentaries. I was seeing doctors who said what I had was either incurable or they simply didn't know what was causing it and would prescribe medicine that didn't do anything except mask the side effects very briefly.

Two things that bugged me the most on the outside were psoriasis and geographic tongue. Considering doctors said there was no cure I figured there must have been something I was doing (or not doing) that was causing it. I started thinking that maybe my body was trying to send me a message. Before this time I wasn't very in tune with my body at all.

The constant bloating and excruciating stomach pains were also an alarm bell. I thought that's just the way people felt after eating and drinking because I couldn't really remember any different. I blamed my body, but never thought it was what I was putting into my body that was making me sick.

Here are some of the DVDs which I really enjoyed watching and learning about. It's stuff your doctor won't tell you because doctors treat with medicine. That is what they are trained to do. I value my doctor and also medicine, but it is SO important to realise how powerful food is. I also love seeing my physio, chiropractor, naturopath, remedial masseuse, and bowen massage therapist - I love mixing it up and seeing what each profession has to offer. They all do something slightly different and I think a holistic approach is the best approach.

I think the best thing we can do is educate ourselves on as many different things as possible. Take a slice of everything you hear and broaden your knowledge base. Research new things and challenge the status quo. Tell a friend a fun fact, and demand one in return.
