What my live blood analysis showed 15 September 2014

Dad doesn't think he's heard of anyone having 'normal blood' after getting a live blood analysis. You can make up your own mind about whether you think it's psuedoscience or not :p. What I found super interesting when I got mine done at a nutritionist's the other week was this…

The cells on the left are described as 'rouleaux'. Meaning they're stacked on top of each other. My blood looked very similar to the pic on the left when it was under the microscope. I've never really paid much attention to what blood should look like but even I knew this looked a bit odd. At this point I wasn't drinking anywhere near enough water. You can read my blog post from the other day about my complete inability to stay hydrated (I was lucky to have 1 glass of water a day!). In the past 2-3 weeks I have definitely kicked this lazy habit. Now drinking 2-3L a day WOO!

To see how my body was functioning on a cellular level was super cool.. and also a big wake up call to carry a bottle of water with me everywhere I go. I found this little exercise very interesting and informative so I thought I'd share. Whenever I can't be bothered to fill up my water bottle, I have this image of unhappy, sticky blood cells in my head and that's enough to get off my butt and head to the tap...
